Outside the boundaries
Make the most of what's around you!! I find that the best way to get to know a new camera and to upgrade my techniques from my old cameras is to use what is around me. For example, if you have pets, get used to focusing on movie objects and animals.
Pick features of your pet and try to hone your skills and try different apertures and ISO's and really test your camera and your own ability. This will not only help to understand how your camera works but also make you more creative when applying this knowledge to new projects.
Once you have done this try and change locations as much as possible. For example, if you used your pet as your first lesson, then try taking the pet to the park or moving from inside the house to the garden. Not only will the lighting and movement be different, but you yourself will be able to maneuvre to different positions and expand your creativity.
